POCATELLO--Funeral services for David Robert Nelson, 242, Willard Ave., will be
conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the McHan-Henderson Funeral chapel with Rev. Dr. J. Willis
Hamblin, First Presbyterian Church officiating.
The retired railroad machinist died Tuesday evening in a local hospital following a brief
illness.
He was born March 23, 1878 in Logan, Utah, a son of Edward W. And Ann Edwards
Nelson. He married Martha P. Hunt Nov, 3, 1915 in Rupert, Ida. They were later separated. He
was been employed as a machinist for the Union Pacific Railroad Company until his retirement in
April, 1945. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by one son and three daughters: Milton D. Nelson, Utah; Mrs. Orva Curtis,
and Mrs. Bette Young, both of Pocatello; Mrs. Vineta Taylor, Long Beach, Calif.; three brothers,
Aleck E. Nelson, Twin Falls; Thomas E. Nelson, Pocatello; Edward E. Nelson, Rupert; Three
sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Bush, Malad; Mrs. Margaret Thomas, Burley; Mrs. Elaine L. Smith, Salt
Lake City,, and eight grandchildren.
Burial will be in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of the
McHan-Henderson Funeral Home.
