Soldier Listed Killed in Korea Action
Pfc. Frank Keith Hoesch, 25, son of Mrs. Bowina Hoesch, 669 Hollywood Ave., has been classified by the U.S. Defense Department as killed in action, according to word received Saturday by his mother.
The Salt Lake soldier had been reported missing in action in Korea as of July 9, 1952.
In the message received Saturday by Mrs. Hoesch, the Defense Department said Pfc. Hoesch was being classified dead as of Dec. 31, 1953, in the absence of any information to support a presumption of survival.
Pfc. Hoesch entered the Army in October, 1950, and was sent overseas in April, 1951, with the 45th Infantry Division. He had been in Korea since December, 1951.
Born July 17, 1928, in Salt Lake City, he was a son of Adolph and Bowina Hoesch. He was graduated from South High School in 1945 and was employed by Interstate Brick Co. before entering the Army.
Surviving are his mother, four brothers and a sister, Clifford, Lester and Arthur Hoesch, Salt Lake City; Adolph Hoesch, with the U.S. Army at Fort Ord, Cal., and Mrs. Henrietta Reinke, Twin Falls, Ida.
